Share Your World – 2016 Week 51 – Favorite Holiday Edition

Hi All,

Every week Cee asks a few questions in which we allow others to find out a little bit more about us and here are my answers for this week:

What is your favorite holidayDiwali, in India it is just like another Christmas. You can know more about the festival here.

What types of food is associated with your holiday Usually Indian sweets. My favorite is Kaju Katli, Barfi (specially made by moong daal or Green gram), and Gulab Jamun.

Do you travel for your holidayNo, as the day involves evening prayer.

Is it a religious or spiritual holidayYes, it is.

Is there a gift exchangeYes, usually between friends and family. In our family, it’s just the close one, we don’t include professional acquaintances, but some people do. And yes, we also get annual gifts from our employers as well, from last 2years I’ve been gifted voucher from Amazon 😀

How long does the celebration lastThe festival starts from Dhanteras and usually end in Bhai Dooj, in total of 5-6days.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up – Nothing much from last week, just a normal work week. For next week I’m looking for Christmas vacations. In India, every festival is celebrated in a grand manner, so we might have a party or an outing maybe 😉

Ciao🙂
